The Mar Thoma Suvisesha Sevika Sangham, the women’s wing of the Mar Thoma Church, was founded in 1919 during the Maramon Convention under the leadership of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan. With the motto, “Service and Evangelism in the life and mission of the Mar Thoma Church,” it encourages women to actively participate in the Church’s spiritual and ministerial life.
Every woman aged eighteen and above is a member of the Sevika Sangham. From its early growth, shaped by dedicated leaders like Mrs. Kandamma Varghese, the Sangham has remained a vibrant fellowship committed to faith and service.
Today, members nurture their spiritual lives through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, while also serving the community through visiting the sick and supporting charitable causes such as education, marriage aid, and orphanages.
Guided by the call, “Serve one another humbly in love” (Epistle to the Galatians 5:13), the Sevika Sangham continues to serve the Church and community with dedication.
