Our Parish

Welcome to St. Andrews Mar Thoma Church, LA

Welcome to St. Andrews Mar Thoma Church, Los Angeles. We are a vibrant Christian community rooted in faith, worship, and fellowship. As part of the Mar Thoma Syrian tradition, we are committed to living out the Gospel through worship, discipleship, and service. We invite you to join us as we grow together in Christ and serve our community with love, humility, and purpose.

Our parish is a place where individuals and families from diverse backgrounds come together as one body in Christ. Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been part of our church family for years, you are always welcome in God’s house.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” — Matthew 18:20

Mission
To worship God, nurture believers in faith, and serve the community with compassion and love. Through prayer, teaching, and fellowship, we seek to build a spiritually strong and caring congregation that reflects Christ in all we do.

Vision
To be a Christ-centered church that transforms lives through worship, discipleship, and outreach. We aspire to be a beacon of hope, guiding people into a deeper relationship with God and meaningful service to others.

Our Faith
We believe in the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and affirm the authority of the Holy Bible as the foundation of our faith and life. We confess the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, through His death and resurrection, as the source of salvation for all who believe.

Our worship is rooted in the rich liturgical tradition of the Mar Thoma Church, blending ancient faith practices with contemporary relevance. Through Scripture, sacraments, prayers, and hymns, we experience a living faith that speaks to both heart and mind.

Our Worship Life
Worship at St. Andrews is at the center of our parish life. Each Sunday, we gather for Divine Worship, and on alternate Sundays for Holy Qurbana with Holy Communion. The worship is rich and prayerful, guiding the congregation through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, scripture readings, prayer for the Holy Spirit, intercession, the Nicene Creed, offertory, sermon, prayers, benediction, Kiss of Peace, and Holy Communion.

The service is further enriched by congregational singing led by our choir, with carefully selected hymns each Sunday, creating a spirit of reverence, participation, and unity in worship.

Fellowship and Community Life
Beyond worship, our parish life is strengthened through fellowship and shared community experiences. One of the most cherished aspects of our church is the fellowship dinner held after Sunday worship. This time of gathering reflects the spirit of early Christian fellowship, where breaking bread together builds unity, friendship, and love across generations.

We also encourage active participation in ministries, prayer groups, youth activities, and outreach programs that help us grow together in faith and service.

Our Commitment
As a parish, we are committed to:

  • Growing deeper in God’s Word and prayer
  • Strengthening families and community bonds
  • Serving those in need with compassion
  • Nurturing the next generation in Christian faith
  • Living as witnesses of Christ in everyday life
