Lent – A Deeper Faith Journey

Lent – A Deeper Faith Journey

Dear Beloved Members in Christ,

Lent is a sacred season that invites us to refresh our body, mind, and soul. It is not merely ritual observance, but a spiritual practice and a way of life. Lent offers us a renewed perspective and vision, calling us into a deeper faith journey with Christ to experience the fullness of life revealed through His sacrifice and His celebration of life on the cross. At the heart of Lent lies the question: How can we change our lives? God is constantly calling us toward transformation, inviting us to reflect on what truly matters and how we are shaped by His grace. The miracle at Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine, is a powerful sign of transformation. It reminds us that God desires change, not only in circumstances but in hearts, attitudes, and relationships.

Yet, when we look at our world today, we realize that many are not waiting for wine, but for water. Countless people struggle with poverty, hunger, and the lack of necessities. This reality challenges us to read the signs of the times through the lens of faith. In this Lenten season, God calls us to respond not with excess, but with compassion. Therefore, Lent invites us to cultivate a new habit: the habit of sharing. Sharing is not an optional act of generosity; it is a sign and symbol of the Kingdom of God. When we share what we have, we participate in God’s transforming work and become instruments of His justice and love. As a Church and faith community, Lent calls us to walk in the footsteps of the apostolic Church, where love, care, and compassion were lived realities. By practicing solidarity with the poor, caring for the vulnerable, and loving one another, we witness to the Gospel in tangible ways.

May this Lenten journey transform us into a sharing community, renewed in faith, strengthened in hope, and active in love so that through us, God’s life-giving grace may flow into a thirsty world.

With prayers and blessings,
In Christ’s service, With Prayers
– Rev Thomas Baby
